What makes SuperQuest unique?
Classes are taught by K-12 teachers who have previously successfully taught that class to K-12 students.
Classes are specifically for K-12 teachers, creating a highly focused collaborative environment that promotes discussion about teaching methods, pedagogy, appropriate curriculum materials and classroom management.
Classes happen in a highly condensed and intensive time frame (3 to 5 days); we work all day every day of the course and a teacher can dedicate time to focus intensely on skill growth.
SuperQuest provides an important opportunity to share best practice ideas and methods as well as collaborate with others trying to provide similar services to students.

LEGO Robotics NXT and Robot C
Instructors: Don Domes and Dale Yocum
Description: This self-paced one-day session is designed as a crash course in Lego Robotics or a handy refresher for those who'd like to take their skills to the next level. Because it's self-paced, this session is open to everyone from complete beginners to advanced users. You'll learn and refine both programming and building skills using the LEGO NXT robotics sets or, optionally, the older RCX sets. We will have a focused session on FTC and Robot C for those who are interested. You'll program using the NXT. If possible, you should bring your own NXT LEGO set and laptop with software installed. Computers and Robotics sets will be loaned to those who need them. We will be using the extensive Robotics facilities at Hillsboro High where over 100 students participate in beginning and advanced robotics courses each year.
Other planned workshops:
- Flash Animation and Actionscripting with Chuck Laiti
- Coaching an OGPC team with Terrel Smith
- How to use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) with Chris Winikka and Jill Hubbard
Lunch provided! Our guest speaker will be Chris Brooks, TechStart Board President. Chris will demonstrate Web 2.0 productivity tools you can use for FREE!
