TechStart is an Oregon-based 501(c)3 non-profit. The organization was created by Oregon technology leaders with the goal of expanding access to computer science education for K-12 students in our state.
TechStart is an all-volunteer organization, with contributions going entirely to program activities. Our organization is allied with the Technology Association of Oregon.
The need to expand and enhance technology learning is greater than ever. We live in a digital economy, where technical skills are essential for millions of jobs. Computer science learning opens tremendous opportunities—and our nation is projected to have a substantial shortfall of tech professionals for years to come.
But to build a stronger workforce, to plan for our state’s future, and to give today’s kids the best opportunities to thrive in tomorrow’s economy, we need to help our schools and educators. Teachers and schools are doing great work, but they need more resources. And kids need more opportunities to learn. That’s what TechStart is all about.
