Nominating the TechStart Student of the Year
TechStart recognizes a Student of the Year and two runners-up among high school juniors and seniors. In 2025, TechStart will present a student of the year award to both a boy and girl high school student. Our student winner receives a $2,000 scholarship toward college tuition or related expenses. Look for the chance to nominate students for the 2025 award in January 2025. The award will be presented at Technology Association of Oregon’s 41st Annual Tech Awards ceremony on May 5, 2025.

What technology teachers should consider when nominating a TechStart Student of the Year
These are some of the criteria technology teachers should consider when nominating a student for the award. The student should:
Make a sustained, positive impact in the classroom, school, and district
Demonstrate tech leadership and engagement beyond the classroom
TechStart’s 2025 Student of the Year program has now concluded — congratulations again to all of our amazing nominees and winners!
We’ll be kicking off the 2026 Student of the Year nomination season next year, continuing our tradition of recognizing outstanding Oregon high school students who demonstrate leadership, creativity, and a passion for technology.
