Nominating the TechStart Student of the Year

TechStart recognizes a Student of the Year and two runners-up among high school juniors and seniors. The award includes a $2,500 scholarship that can be applied to educational expenses and associated costs. Look for the chance to nominate students for the 2024 award in February 2024/ The award will be presented at Technology Association of Oregon’s 40th Annual Tech Awards ceremony.

What technology educators should consider when nominating a TechStart Student of the Year

These are some of the criteria technology educators should consider when nominating a student for the award. The student should:

Make a sustained, positive impact in the classroom, school, and district
Demonstrate tech leadership and engagement beyond the classroom

For the 2024 Student of the Year award, TechStart has a two-step nomination process. There is a short form to nominate a student candidate. Once the candidate is nominated, TechStart has a TechStart Student Application form to be completed to gather information about the candidate.
